Winter Weekend Retreat

Polar Thang is a winter weekend retreat at Twin Lakes Camp and Conference Center. This exciting twist on the YCM summer camps that are so well known and loved is for both middle and high school students. At Polar Thang everyone is together for meals and worship, then break off for tailored messages, one for middle schoolers, one for high schoolers. Don’t forget about the amazing recreation that’s offered at Twin Lakes, a bonfire, indoor snowball fight, plus the famous Polar Plunge in the lake! It’s summer camp in the middle of winter!

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Polar Thang begins Friday evening, with arrivals starting after 7pm. Breakfast is served on Sunday morning and departure is after the morning session.

HOUSING

All students and leaders will be housed in twelve-person cabins. Depending on the number of campers, smaller churches may room together.

FOOD

The Twin Lakes staff provides Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner on Saturday and Breakfast on Sunday. Dinner Friday night is NOT included so please eat dinner before you arrive at camp.

DAILY SCHEDULE

* Actual camp schedules are tentative and details may vary.

Mornings include quiet time, leader coffee time, a brief message with worship, and various camp activities.
Afternoons include, tournaments, polar plunge, and camp activities.
Evenings include “Shenanigans” (work-crew led games), leader meeting & prayer time, big message and worship, Family Time, and “Aftermath” (night rec).

RANDOM DETAILS YOU NEED TO KNOW

There should be one adult for every six youths you bring (1:6). There should be male counselors for male campers and female counselors for female campers.
Leaders/counselors must be at least 18 years old.
Each student coming to Polar Thang will need to complete a YCM Medical & Media Release form.
Every student AND leader coming to Polar Thang will need to complete a Twin Lakes Release Form.
Every leader coming to Polar Thang will need to complete the YCM Sexual Misconduct Policy and YCM Medical Release forms.

Deposits for all conferences are $75 per space.
Deposits are refundable until October 1, 2024.
The final date to add/remove spaces is November 30, 2024. After this date you are responsible for total cost of reserved spaces.
Final balance is due December 1, 2024.
